Mikro Ammoudi Beach in Rethymno, also called Ammoudaki, sits on the southern coast of Crete. It lies between the beaches of Damnoni and Klisidi, about 34 kilometers south of Rethymno Town and just 4 kilometers east of Plakias. Although small, the beach offers a peaceful and scenic escape. Travelers can reach it easily by car through Lefkogia village and follow a short footpath from the parking area.

Surrounded by rocky cliffs, the beach creates a sense of privacy and calm. It features coarse white sand and clear, turquoise waters. The sea remains mostly calm, but strong southern winds can occasionally bring large waves.

Unlike larger beaches, Ammoudaki Beach maintains a quiet and naturist-friendly atmosphere. Many visitors choose to sunbathe nude, especially on the right side, though clothing remains optional. Despite its size, the beach provides enough space for people to relax without feeling crowded.

In terms of facilities, the beach includes a small canteen. This simple spot serves drinks, coffee, and snacks. It also rents sunbeds and umbrellas, though their number remains limited. For that reason, early arrival ensures a better spot. The beach does not offer showers or restrooms, so visitors should come prepared. Those needing more services can drive or walk to nearby Plakias, where they will find tavernas, markets, and other conveniences.

The best way to reach the beach is by car. Although buses travel to Lefkogia, the final stretch requires a taxi or private transport. Coastal footpaths from Klisidi or Damnoni also lead to the beach, though they involve uneven terrain.

Overall, Mikro Ammoudi Beach offers a quiet, natural retreat for those who value beauty and simplicity. The calm waters, scenic surroundings, and relaxed vibe make it a top choice for a peaceful day by the sea.
