Damnoni Beach Crete is one of the island’s most stunning coastal destinations. Located just 5 kilometers east of Plakias in southern Rethymno, ranks among the favorites of the southern Crete coastline.

Visitors will find soft golden sand mixed with smooth pebbles underfoot. The water dazzles with its crystal-clear turquoise hue, perfect for swimming. Dramatic cliffs surround the cove, creating a sheltered, intimate atmosphere.

For comfort, visitors can rent sunbeds and umbrellas along the shore. Most come with service from nearby tavernas – just order a drink or meal, and you might get your sunbed for free. Speaking of food, several excellent beachfront tavernas serve fresh seafood, traditional Greek dishes, and refreshing beverages.

Damnonni Beach Crete does get crowded in peak season (July-August). For a more peaceful experience, visiting in June or September when temperatures remain warm but crowds thin is advised. Also, arriving before 11 AM will most likely secure the best spots. Parking is free but limited, so early arrival helps here too.
