Plaka Beach Pelion lies on the eastern coast of the region, about 42 km east of Volos. It lies right next to the villages of Agios Ioannis. The beach offers calm surroundings, natural beauty, and easy access. 

The beach features smooth white pebbles and some coarse sand. Clear blue waters create a vivid contrast with the green hills. Since the sea deepens quickly, strong swimmers enjoy it more. However, the shallow edge still allows children to play under supervision. 

Although Plaka attracts visitors, it still keeps a peaceful atmosphere. A few sunbeds and umbrellas line one end of the beach. The rest stays open and unorganized. As a result, people often bring towels and find shade under the trees.

Getting to Plaka Beach is simple. A narrow paved road leads directly from Agios Ioannis. Along the way, clear signs help guide travelers. Visitors can also walk to the beach in less than ten minutes. In addition, a small parking area sits near the entrance. Arriving early in the day allows easier access and better space.

Nearby tavernas and cafés serve meals and drinks throughout the day. They prepare fresh seafood, salads, and traditional Pelion dishes. Many places use local ingredients and follow family recipes. 

Plaka Beach does not offer water sports or loud activities. Instead, visitors relax, swim, or read in peace. Short paths lead to nearby beaches like Papa Nero. These trails wind through forested areas and offer scenic views. 

Plaka Beach Pelion suits couples, families, and solo travelers. It creates a balance between simplicity and comfort. Since it avoids overdevelopment, it keeps its natural charm. Yet it still offers the essentials for a full day at the coast.
