Sfinari Beach Crete lies on the west coast of Chania. It sits about 60 kilometers southwest of Chania Town and 30 kilometers south of Kissamos. Mountains and a green valley surround the area, creating a peaceful and natural setting.

The beach features a mix of sand and pebbles. While some parts feel soft underfoot, others contain small stones. Therefore, water shoes improve comfort. The sea remains clear and cool, and it deepens gradually, making swimming easy and safe. Additionally, tamarisk trees along the shore provide natural shade.

Sfinari stays quiet throughout the year. As a result, it attracts visitors who seek calmness and nature. The village of Sfinari nearby offers simple amenities, including a few tavernas, cafes, and small rooms near the beach. Thus, visitors can enjoy fresh local food without facing crowds.

Facilities at the beach remain basic but useful. Several umbrellas, sunbeds, and showers line the water’s edge. However, the beach preserves its natural vibe.

Sfinari connects to several hiking trails. One path leads to Korakas promontory, where visitors find beautiful views of Cape Korakas. From there, travelers can reach Platanakia Beach, a quieter spot. The E4 European hiking trail passes nearby and continues toward Kefali and the Chrysoskalitissa Monastery

Access to Sfinari Beach Crete remains straightforward. A paved road leads from the main highway. Public buses run from Chania and Kissamos regularly. Although narrow roads require careful driving, the rewarding views make the trip worthwhile. At sunset, the bay offers memorable views that enhance the experience.
