Parnassus Ski Center sits on Mount Parnassus in Central Greece, about 180 km northwest of Athens. It covers elevations between 1,600 and 2,260 meters. As the largest ski resort in the country, it attracts many visitors each winter

The resort consists of three main areas: Kellaria, Fterolakka, and Gerontovrachos. Together, these offer between 19 and 23 marked slopes. In total, skiers can enjoy around 34 to 36 kilometers of runs. These slopes accommodate all skill levels. Beginners find gentle green and blue trails, while intermediates tackle red runs. Advanced skiers challenge themselves on black slopes and off-piste areas, especially near Fterolakka.

Regarding lifts, the resort operates 16 to 17 in total. These include chairlifts, gondolas, surface lifts, and beginner lifts. Consequently, the lifts can transport over 13,000 people per hour, reducing wait times significantly. The resort opens daily from 9:00 AM to around 3:00 or 4:00 PM, depending on weather and snow conditions. Visitors should always check the latest schedule before arriving.

Moreover, the resort offers several facilities to enhance the experience. Chalets and mountain cafés provide food and refreshments. Ski rental shops supply equipment for all ages, while ski schools offer lessons for beginners and advanced skiers alike. In addition, a medical station stands ready to handle emergencies. Families benefit from children’s playgrounds and dedicated beginner slopes.

Although the resort lacks onsite accommodation, nearby towns like Arachova, Delphi, and Amfikleia offer a range of hotels, guesthouses, and tavernas. Among these, Arachova is well-known for its lively atmosphere and many visitors combine it with their visit to Parnassus.

Parnassus Ski Center takes approximately 2 to 2.5-hours of driving to reach from Athens. Drivers usually take the National Roads via Livadia and Arachova. Furthermore, a seasonal ski bus connects Athens to the resort affordably. Alternatively, visitors can use train and taxi combinations or local buses to nearby villages.

The ski season typically runs from mid-December through late March or early April. Thanks to reliable snowfall and north-facing slopes, the resort maintains good conditions well into spring. Visitors should dress in layers and apply sun protection since the high altitude brings strong sun and wind chill.

To avoid crowds, visiting on weekdays or during early and late season dates proves best. Renting skis or snowboards onsite remains convenient and cost-effective.
