Panagia Hozoviotissa is a stunning Greek Orthodox Monastery located on the island of Amorgos, which is not only an important spiritual site for Christians, but it also has a rich history and culture.

The name Hozoviotissa comes from the Byzantine emperor who built it, Alexios Komnenos, who saved an icon of the Virgin Mary from a shipwreck and built the monastery to protect it. The monastery is built into the side of a cliff, offering breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea.

Inside, visitors can see frescoes dating back to the 12th century, rare artifacts, and a collection of ancient books. The atmosphere is peaceful and spiritual.
