Livadi Schinoussa is one of the most peaceful and inviting beaches on the island. Located just south of Chora, the island’s main village, the beach is within walking distance—about 15 minutes on foot. A dirt road also leads down to the coast, making it accessible by car or scooter. Though the beach remains undeveloped, it attracts visitors looking for calm, space, and natural charm.

The shoreline is long and sandy, lined with soft golden grains and clear, shallow waters. These conditions make it ideal for swimming, especially for families with children. The seabed is mostly sandy, and the water stays warm and gentle, especially during the summer. Olive trees and low hills surround the bay, adding a peaceful and traditional Cycladic feel to the landscape.

Livadi is not organized with umbrellas or sunbeds, which helps preserve its wild and authentic atmosphere. Visitors bring their own towels, snacks, and water. Still, the beach is close enough to Chora that tavernas, bakeries, and mini-markets are easily reached.

There are no loud beach bars or water sports, just the soft sound of waves and birds. For those wanting more than sunbathing, nearby hiking trails offer routes to other beaches and viewpoints. The walk along the coastline or through the hills reveals native plants, dry-stone walls, and wide views over the Aegean Sea.

Parking is limited near the beach, so it’s best to arrive early during the busier summer weeks. Most visitors, though, enjoy the walk from Chora, especially early in the morning or just before sunset.

Livadi Schinoussa is a great match for travelers looking to slow down and enjoy a more traditional island experience. There are no crowds, no commercial activity on the sand, and no rush. Just the sea, the sky, and time to breathe.
