Kaminakia Beach lies on the southwestern coast of Astypalaia. It is located approximately 9 kilometers from Chora, the island’s main town. First, visitors follow a paved road. Then, they must take a dirt track to reach the beach. 

This beach sits inside a quiet, protected bay. As a result, the sea stays calm even on windy days. The water remains deep, clear, and clean. Therefore, swimming and snorkeling are very enjoyable. The shore has both sand and pebbles. However, the western end of the beach is sandier and better suited for lounging or walking barefoot.

Tamarisk trees provide natural shade along the shore. Moreover, sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent, adding extra comfort. A small taverna stands near the beach. It serves fresh seafood, light meals, and cold drinks. Hence, visitors can easily enjoy lunch without leaving the beach.
