Antisamos Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Kefalonia. It is located on the eastern side of the island, near the town of Sami. The beach is known for its striking scenery, with crystal-clear turquoise waters and lush, green hills surrounding it.

The beach is large and pebbled, offering plenty of space for sunbathing. The waters are shallow near the coast, which makes it ideal for swimming, especially for families with children. As you swim further out, the sea becomes deeper and the water gets cooler, making it great for those who enjoy swimming or snorkeling.

Antisamos Beach is well-equipped for tourists. You will find sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent, offering comfort for those who want to relax under the Greek sun. A few beach bars and tavernas line the area, providing refreshments, snacks, and local dishes. The local food, including fresh seafood and traditional Greek recipes, is a treat for the senses. You can enjoy a cold drink or a bite while looking out at the stunning view of the Ionian Sea.

For those who enjoy a more active day, water sports are available at the beach. Crazy Sofa, Kayaking and paddleboarding are popular activities, and some spots even offer boat rentals.

One of the highlights of Antisamos Beach is its role in the movie Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. The beach served as a backdrop for several scenes, and you can still see traces of its cinematic fame. This gives the beach an added charm for movie fans.

Getting to Antisamos Beach is easy by car. There is a parking area nearby, though it can get crowded during peak tourist season, so it’s a good idea to arrive early. The road to the beach is well-maintained, but it can be narrow in some places, so drive carefully.
