Parikia is the main port and commercial center of the island, with a lively atmosphere and buzzing nightlife during the tourist season. 

The town is home to a number of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, and souvenir stalls, offering visitors everything they need for a comfortable stay. 

Parikia is also known for its stunning architecture, with numerous examples of traditional Cycladic buildings and a number of historical landmarks. 

The most notable of these is the church of Panagia Ekatontapyliani, as well as the 13th-century Venetian castle that towers above the town, offering spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. 

The town also boasts a number of beautiful beaches, including Livadia, Krios, and Parasporos, which are all within easy reach of the town center.
