Moutsouna Beach Naxos is a quiet and scenic spot on the island’s eastern coast. It sits about 37 kilometers from Naxos Town and 11 kilometers from the mountain village of Apeiranthos. The drive to Moutsouna is beautiful but includes some narrow and winding roads. 

This small coastal village once served as the port for emery export. Old mining cranes and tracks still stand by the harbor, giving the area a touch of history. Today, Moutsouna is peaceful and laid-back, ideal for travelers who want to escape the crowds.

The beach consists of two small coves—Ai Giannis and Tigani. Ai Giannis lies right in front of the main tavernas, where the sand meets the sea. Tigani is just a short walk to the south. Both beaches offer soft sand and shallow, clear waters. 

Moutsouna Beach remains mostly unspoiled. There are no large hotels or beach clubs. Instead, visitors find family-run guesthouses, cozy tavernas, and a small marina. The pace of life here is slow and relaxing.

Food is a highlight in Moutsouna. Local tavernas serve fresh seafood, grilled meats, and homemade dishes. Many tables sit right by the water, offering a lovely view with every meal. Most tavernas stay open from midday through the evening, especially in summer.

There are no organized beach facilities, so it’s a good idea to bring an umbrella, towels, and other essentials. A few trees offer some natural shade along the shore. The beaches are rarely crowded, even in peak season, which adds to the charm.
