Kalogria Beach, located in western Achaea near the village of Araxos and about 50 km west of Patras, offers one of the most stunning coastal experiences in the Peloponnese. Stretching for approximately 9 kilometers along the Ionian Sea, this beach combines soft golden sand, shallow turquoise waters, and a backdrop of lush pine forest.

Unlike many crowded tourist spots, Kalogria manages to balance natural beauty with visitor comfort. On one hand, its organized sections provide sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, and changing facilities. On the other hand, its unspoiled areas invite visitors to lay down a towel under the pine trees or next to the peaceful dunes.

Beyond the shoreline, the landscape becomes even more captivating. Just inland, the Kotychi–Strofylia National Wetlands Park forms part of a protected ecosystem that includes lagoons, salt marshes, and the impressive Strofylia Forest. As the largest pine forest in Greece, Strofylia offers shaded walking paths and rich biodiversity. Visitors often spot rare birds such as glossy ibis, herons, and hoopoes.

Meanwhile, adventure-seekers can take advantage of the beach’s wide selection of water sports. Kalogria offers windsurfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and jet-ski rentals. Local instructors also provide lessons for beginners, making it easy to try something new.

When hunger strikes, several seaside taverns and cafés offer fresh local cuisine. In the evening, many guests stay to watch the sunset, which paints the sky in vivid shades of orange and pink.

Reaching Kalogria is simple. The beach lies only 7 kilometers from Araxos Airport. Most travelers choose to drive, as the route is straightforward and scenic. Ample parking is available near the beach entrance.

For accommodations, the nearby Kalogria Beach Hotel provides a convenient base. This four-star, all-inclusive resort offers pools, beach access, a kids’ club, and nightly entertainment.
