Avithos Beach Kefalonia is a stunning coastal spot on the southern coast of the island. It lies near the village of Svoronata, about 12 kilometers from Argostoli. 

The beach has soft golden sand and shallow, crystal-clear waters. The gentle slope into the sea makes it safe for swimming, especially for families with children. The water has a beautiful turquoise hue, and the seabed remains mostly sandy with only a few scattered rocks. 

Avithos Beach is known for its cleanliness. It holds a Blue Flag certification, which means it meets high environmental and safety standards. The area is also is a popular habitat among sea turtles, and if you’re lucky you might encounter a few baby turtles heading for the water!

Avithos Beach Kefalonia is well-organized but not overcrowded. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent, providing comfort for visitors. Two excellent beachfront tavernas serve fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes. There are no large hotels or resorts directly on the beach, preserving its natural charm. However, several accommodations, including villas and guesthouses, are available in the nearby villages.

The beach is easy to reach by car, with a well-paved road leading directly to it. Parking is available near the shore, though it can get busy in peak season. A bus service connects Avithos Beach to Argostoli, but schedules are limited.

Early mornings and late afternoons offer a quieter and more relaxing experience. Sunsets at Avithos Beach are stunning. The sky turns shades of orange and pink, creating a magical atmosphere. Many visitors stay late to enjoy the breathtaking views before heading to a nearby taverna for dinner.
