Alonaki Fanariou Beach lies in Epirus, around 24 kilometers from Parga and about 30 kilometers from Preveza. It sits inside a natural bay surrounded by cliffs and dense pine trees. The setting feels remote, yet access remains fairly easy. 

To reach the beach, visitors have to drive toward the village of Valanidorachi. Then follow signs marked “Pros Alonaki.” After a narrow road and dirt path, a staircase leads down to the beach. Although the descent takes a few minutes, the view from the top is stunning. Parking is available under pine trees near the entrance. 

The beach offers a mix of fine sand and small pebbles. The sea features turquoise water that stays clear and refreshing. Since cliffs block strong winds, the bay often stays calm. Close to shore, several rocky patches offer ideal conditions for snorkeling. In the center of the bay, a small rocky islet sits just offshore. Confident swimmers often cross to it for a closer look or to dive. Many visitors bring goggles or snorkels to explore the shallow reef areas. 

Alonaki Fanariou features a few basic amenities. A small canteen near the stairs sells cold drinks, snacks, and sandwiches. It also rents out sunbeds and umbrellas. During peak hours, these rentals often run out quickly. Therefore, early arrival ensures better choices. Also, one shower and a small changing cabin are available near the entrance. Trash bins are present, but no lifeguards or restrooms serve the beach. 

The beach feels quiet in the early morning and late afternoon. However, crowds build during midday in July and August. Sunlight reaches the beach best before 3 PM. Later in the day, the cliffs cast long shadows. 

Nearby attractions include the Necromanteion of Acheron, located about 4 kilometers inland. Visitors often combine a beach visit with a short cultural stop or a walk along the Acheron River. Other nearby beaches like Ammoudia and Lichnos provide good options for extended trips.
