Agia Theodora of Vasta is a renowned Byzantine church located in the enchanting region of Peloponnese, Greece. 

This magnificent architectural gem dates back to the 12th century and is known for its unique and captivating feature: the “hanging” plane tree that grows right through its roof.

Legend has it that Agia Theodora, after being persecuted for her Christian beliefs, sought refuge in this very church. 

It is said that her prayers were so powerful that the tree miraculously grew through the roof to shield her from harm. To this day, the plane tree remains an extraordinary testament to her unwavering faith.
