Rochari Beach is a beautiful and well-known beach on the northern coast of Tinos Island. It sits close to the village of Panormos, about 28 kilometers from Chora, the island’s capital.

The drive to the beach takes around 40 minutes and offers great views of the island’s rugged landscape. The road is paved and easy to follow. The beach is wide and sandy, with fine golden sand and clear blue waters. It’s one of the most organized beaches in this part of the island. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent, but there’s also space to lay your own towel.

The water stays shallow near the shore, making it great for families and less experienced swimmers. Waves can pick up on windy days, especially in August when the Meltemi winds blow. Still, many enjoy the breeze, especially in the hot summer months. The beach stays clean thanks to regular maintenance and respectful visitors.

Just behind the beach, a few beach bars and tavernas serve snacks, drinks, and full meals. Try local dishes like louza (cured pork) or Tinian cheese with a glass of ouzo or wine. Many places stay open from early morning until late evening, especially during high season.

The beach is a great spot for watching the sunset, as the sun dips into the sea beyond the nearby islands. Nearby, the small fishing village of Panormos offers more to explore. A short walk or drive leads to its picturesque harbor, lined with boats and more dining options.

Parking is available near the beach, though it can fill up quickly in July and August. To avoid crowds, visit in the morning or during the shoulder seasons—late spring or early autumn. During these times, the weather is still pleasant, and the beach is quieter.

Rochari Beach combines natural beauty, comfort, and easy access. Whether relaxing under an umbrella, enjoying a local meal, or exploring nearby villages, visitors find plenty to enjoy. It’s a must-visit spot for anyone exploring northern Tinos..
