Avali Lefkada, located on the northwest coast of the island, offers a peaceful and scenic escape from the island’s more crowded spots. Surrounded by rugged cliffs and lush greenery, this hidden gem is perfect for travelers seeking tranquility and natural beauty. 

The beach features fine white pebbles and crystal-clear turquoise waters that sparkle under the sun. It’s not as well-known as nearby Porto Katsiki or Egremni, which makes it even more appealing to those looking for privacy. To reach Avali Beach, follow the coastal road from Kalamitsi village. The drive includes narrow, winding roads with steep turns, so caution is essential. However, the effort is worth it. Once there, the landscape opens up to reveal a breathtaking view of the Ionian Sea. There is also a parking space in exchange for a small fee that includes a free coffee.

Unlike other beaches in Lefkada, Avali feels untouched. No loud bars or beach clubs disturb the calm. Still, basic amenities are available. A small beach bar operates during the summer, offering snacks, drinks, and shade under thatched umbrellas. There are a few sunbeds, but most visitors prefer bringing their own towels or mats. Swimming conditions are excellent. The water is deep but calm, with gentle waves.

Additionally, the beach is long enough for relaxing walks, especially during sunset when the sky turns vibrant shades of orange and pink. For food, there is a small tavern nearby. It’s just a short walk uphill and serves traditional Greek dishes with a view of the sea. 

Avali Lefkada suits couples, solo travelers, and nature lovers. Families with young children might find the road to the beach challenging and the pebbled shore less ideal. Nevertheless, for those who appreciate quiet moments in stunning settings, Avali is hard to beat.
